On the morning of the race I woke up nervous but excited. I wanted to see how my hard work of pre-season training would pay-off. I began the day by getting up at 6:30, then it was time to get ready. After packing up it was time to leave. When I got there I went to my team pit and sat down and relaxed for a while to prep myself for my race. Before I knew it it was time to warm up. After warming up I left for staging and I was ready to race. When I got to staging I saw my competition, some familiar faces and some not, I was anxious to race. This was my first race in varsity so I was wondering what 3 laps would be like. When lining up I tried to stay warm especially since it was cold and windy. After staging we rolled up to the start and the race begun! As we took off, it was slower then I imagined because there was some winds and no one wanted to lead, but as soon as we hit the dirt the pace increased. On the climb I stayed with the lead pack up until a little before the end of the hi...

SoCal Endurance 12 Hour Race 1/27/18 This race was for sure the best way to start off the 2018 season, I  had lots of fun on course and hanging out with my team. Though I did not feel my best, due to a cold, I definitely had an amazing time! The morning of I woke up at 5:00 am and started the day off with some oatmeal and some eggs, after breakfast I started to pack up all my gear, which was super quick and easy with my scicon gear bag. After everything was loaded we took off. When we got there I met up with my teammates to register, we did a 12 hour 4 person ladies team, which I did with my sister Alyssa, Hayley Richards, and Coach Heather. After getting registered, we got our kits, which are super nice (thanks Ftech). After that we hung out and watched Hayley Richards take off on the first lap of the day. After Hayley got back Alyssa went out on lap number 2, then after her it was my turn to do my share.  My first lap started pretty smooth, however it took a wh...

Going into this night I was very excited to meet all my team members and get to know more about SoCal DEVO. First when I got there I met my team mates and also some people from Ellsworth bikes. Then everyone ate dinner and a former rider from the DEVO team spoke about collage cycling, after coach Passed out all our new riding gear for the season, I was very grateful to the team and all our sponsors receiving all the new gear and I can’t wait to use/ race in it all. After we got all the gear coach J went through a power point explaining the season and the races we will be doing. Shortly after, all the parents left and the whole team hung out for a couple hours then we all went to bed. Day 2: Day 2 started by waking up at 7:15, getting ready, and going to the park for a morning upper body/ stretching workout. I was pretty tired when we first got to the park ...
